Before the events of the game, Zidane left Baku in search of his real home with only his memory of a blue light to guide him. He was unsuccessful in his quest and returned to Baku to rejoin Tantalus.

Two years after 
Born to one of the few remaining pure-blood Summoner families in Mist, Rydia is the daughter of the protector of a remote village with the Eidolon Mist Dragon. One day, the Dark Knight Cecil Harvey along with his best friend, Kain Highwind, were ordered by the King of Baron to deliver a ring to Mist Village and killed the dragon barring their way. What they didn’t know was that once an Eidolon dies, its respective summoner dies as well, inadvertently killing Rydia’s mother in the process. Once they realized what they had done, they offered to take Rydia to safety, but she refused their help, overhearing that they were indeed the dragon slayers.
Thirty years before the beginning of 
Born on the island of Besaid, Lulu is a stern and scathing young woman who is nonetheless caring towards others. She grew up with Wakka, Yuna, and Wakka’s younger brother, Chappu, with whom she had a romantic relationship with. Lulu was particularly harsh to Tidus when she first met him, but she gradually changed her opinion as the story progressed.
A former Guardian Corps soldier, Lightning wields a gunblade called the Blazefire Saber, which is also known as the Blaze Edge in Japanese. It is a combination of a gun and a sword, one collapsing into the other. Lightning is known to be very agile, and uses acrobatic moves in battle.
From the book “Final Fantasy VII Ultimania Ω" by Studio BentStuff, we get a glimpse of one of Tifa alternate costumes. The developers of Final Fantasy VII chose to keep her mini-skirt as a staple of her design, much to the delight of fan boys everywhere.
