Get Backers: Mido Ban

Speaking of people with dangerous pointy hair, here’s a character who has such messy (and pointy!) hair that he is often nicknamed “urchin head”!

The rude, and often arrogant Mido Ban, if the descendent of the Last Witch of the 20th Century. He is a genius in battle, and a natural born leader. And, though he’ll never admit it, he is very sentimental towards his friends and even those he is rude with.

That is the most awesome looking Mida Ban hair! Another case of abusing hair cement like Kakashi? I heard using raw egg whites will also get you that result.

Trinity Blood: Dietrich von Lohengrin

The sadistic Puppet Master who thinks of people as merely his toys, Dietrich von Lohengrin is described to be a genius with an angelic face and a demonic heart. He is also the only known Terran in the Rosen Kreuz Orden.

As a young child, his father had realized Dietrich’s evil nature and tried to kill him. Dietrich ended up killing his father as well as his entire family at a young age. He joined Rosen Kreuz Orden later at the age of 7 and became a high ranking official in the age of 10.

Such an impressive cosplay! I found this in a website that features a ton of Trinity Blood cosplays! Make sure you guys visit! I’ll post a few more from them soon.

Yu Yu Hakusho: Youko Kurama and Hiei

Oh my… I didn’t think there’ll be more Yu Yu Hakusho cosplays that are being done recently… But according to this picture, it was uploaded December 10, 2007 on High King’s Flickr account.

The demon Youko is good, though I think wearing the wings made of petals and vines he used to fly around the Demon World may be a bit much… What I’m really impressed with is Hiei! The cosplayer’s got the look and attitude just right!

Of course, I was hunting for a Hiei cosplayer especially for Shadow Cat. I didn’t get the particular Hiei look that she requested, but I think she’ll be happy with this anyway…

Hope you like it, Shadow Cat!

Gundam Seed: Natarle Badriguel

Natarle Badeiguel, one of the few survivors of ZAFT’s Le Creuset’s raid to seize the new weapons of the colony, is one of Earth Alliance’s most loyal and promising young officers. She is the executive officer of the Archangel, a ship headed by Captain Murrue Ramius. She is a superb tactical analyst, a fine trait that made her a captain of her own ship, Dominion, after her former captain began to question the Earth Alliance’s actions.

Natarle is one of my favorite character in the series. Most people don’t really like her because of her cold nature, but I believe that’s what makes her such a fine officer in the first place. Besides, I respect characters like her better than the Damsel in Distress types.

Sadly, she perished in Archangel’s hands because of her blind loyalty to the Earth Alliance.

Pretty accurate cosplayer though, isn’t she?

Pokemon: Takeshi, Kasumi, Satoshi, and Okido Shigeru

A trainer from the Kanto Region, Satoshi (Ash Ketchum) started his Pokemon trainer days with Pikachu as his starter Pokemon. Satoshi and his childhood rival, Okido Shigeru (Gary Oak) race to become the Pokemon League Champion as well as becoming one of the best Pokemon Trainers in the world.

Incidentally, Satoshi accidentally destroys Kasumi’s (Misty’s) bike, and she begins following him to get her bike back. The two eventually became friends, and Kasumi helps him out in training for his battle against Pewter Gym Leader, Takeshi (Brock).

This is so many levels of awesome that I don’t even know where to begin! First found on Kurage-chan's Tumblr!

Odin Sphere: Velvet

The fifth story known as “Fate” tells the story of Princess Velvet, one of the two uncursed survivors of the ruined kingdom of Valentine, which was destroyed by an incident with the Crystallization Cauldron. She wields a Psypher chain which has crystal weights on each end. She is later revealed to be the illegitimate daughter of Valentine’s mother and Odin, making her Gwendolyn’s half-sister.

Awesome cosplay by Himeno Shirayuki! Lovely cloth patterns and photography on this one. I like the angle too! First found on +ophanium!

Kanon: Tsukimiya Ayu 02

Warning: This article contains spoilers! Please read at your own risk!

Seven years before the story of Kanon begins, Tsukimiya Ayu fell from a tree on Aizawa Yuichi’s last day in town. He initially thought that she passed away, but Minase Akiko revealed that Ayu was alive and had been in a coma for the last seven years. Yuichi had been meeting an astral projection of Ayu without either of them knowing so.

Beautiful cosplay photography by Hexlord! I really loved this anime, although I wasn’t able to finish the 2nd season. Perhaps it’s time I watch this series again; I miss hearing Ayu’s “ugu”!

Seikon no Qwaser: Alexander "Sasha" Nikolaevich Hell

Alexander is a Qwaser with the element of Iron. He has the capability of forming a black scythe at least twice his size along with the ability of vibrating atoms in the iron to generate the immense heat necessary to forge alloys of iron without needing an external blast furnace. He is very stern with anyone who decides on their own to refer to him as “Sasha”.

To be honest, the plot and the character descriptions don’t make a lot of sense to me, so forgive me if the article is “lacking” today. If it needs editing, please let me know! And thanks again to Cherokee for sending this in!

For Day 1 Cosfest this year , I'm super happy and excited that I finally get to debut my default Anarchy Panty costume ! ( which has been stuck and ready in my wardrobe since March lol ) . Initially Jaq and I have different plans for Day 1 , unfortunately materials and other stuff that we ordered couldn't arrive on time . So we switched to doing the default version instead !

I am really glad to have See Jun as Brief in our PSG group ! Gosh , he make such a cute and in-character Brief ! He source and modified his own costume , made all the little details for his costume and made his backpack too . In addition , he made us Stocking's sword and Panty's Backlace too . Thanks !

Plus , Jaq is such a cute Stocking . I can't wait for our photoshoot ! Anarchy sisters Yeah !

About the cosplay costume : Making the default version of Panty is quite easy and the pattern is simple to draft . I enjoyed making dresses so it's really fun . The gold necklace was a chain belt I got from Times Square for Rm 9.90 . The bangles was a gift from B . The earrings ! Okay , the earrings was made out of soft wire , red ribbon and spangles from Daiso . I do not wear earrings and never get piercings before so it's double taped on lol . It stay on for hours and it works :-x Red nail polish is from Daiso too !

To Aru Kagaku no Railgun: Uiharu Kazari and Saten Ruiko

I could have sworn I’ve seen these two somewhere before… but now I can’t remember from where! I thought it was Bakemonogatari, but the character list doesn’t include a girl with flowers in her hair.

I hope someone recognizes them! Thanks to Michelle for sending this!

EDIT: Thanks to anon for letting me know this is Uiharu Kazari and Saten Ruiko from To Aru Kagaku no Railgun!

Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance: Makinami Mari Illustrious 05

Makinami Mari Illustrious’ designation amongst the Children has yet to be revealed, though she is once referred as “Problem Child”. In the preview of the 3rd Rebuild movie, Mari is seen taking off her glasses while in confinement. She is also shown having a private conversation with an unknown character.

She’s a strange character if you ask me, but undoubtedly very cute. Besides, Sakamoto Maaya is her seiyuu, so how can you not love her? Thanks again to Daniel for sending this in!

Cosplay: Cream from Tiger & Bunny

Not all the characters in the Anime Tiger & Bunny are heroes. Here is a sexy lady called Cream (or Kriem). The picture to the right of her is one that I have as my desktop background.

She is a NEXT, but with Ouroboros. She uses her hair to control inanimate objects to life. Love the outfit and use of the umbrella as a prop. She sort of reminds me of a girl you might find at a Poker tournament trying to get you to buy something. But in the same breath, she is very gothic as well in the outfit - kind of Steampunk-ish without the all gears.

Can't say much more as it may ruin part of the story. You will just need to catch the show to see what happens.

Lets get on with the lovely ladies of cosplay:

Aoi Ruri

Asuka

Mio Kannagi

MIRAI

Final Fantasy IX: Zidane Tribal

A Genome created by Garland on the planet Terra, Zidane Tribal was created to replace Kuja as a more powerful “Angel of Death”. However, Kuja became jealous of his successor and cast Zidane down to Gaia, where he was found by Baku and his group of thieves, Tantalus.

Before the events of the game, Zidane left Baku in search of his real home with only his memory of a blue light to guide him. He was unsuccessful in his quest and returned to Baku to rejoin Tantalus.

Awesome cosplay by da-monkey! Definitely well-deserving of the Daily Deviation award. Congratulations also to the photographer, Kogenta85!

NOTE: Photo was only cropped for thumbnail purposes. See the original for a more detailed view.

Anime Expo 2011 Cosplay

Another Anime Expo is finished and somehow the easiest thing to sort out were the cosplay photos. I don't even know how to sort out the other ones yet... So anyway, don't mind my whining. For now here are the cosplay photos. It was another hot weekend in L.A. and I applaud each and everyone of these cosplayers (well except maybe people wearing skimpy outfits :P) for going out there to brave the hot summer in L.A.!

There are about 56 photos here, so you might be scrolling for a while ^^; In case I miss some names or labeled the cosplay by mistake, please let me know and I'll edit. Thanks! Cosplayers who see their photo here and want the original photos or maybe you don't want me to post it here, please email me and we can arrange something :)

This is Scanty of Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, I believe. I can never get Kneesocks or Scanty right ^^;

I had to stop these Nia and Yoko because of what Nia's wearing. Awesome!

Kagura from Gintama

Stocking... I believe this is someone from the Funimation booth ^^

Tomoe Mami being rescued by Morning Rescue ^^;

Black AND White Rock Shooter

Two Princess, one... crowd :P Zelda and Peach

Holo that I stopped on the stairway ^^; I just noticed her bag now... AWESOME!

Gender Bender Squall!

Sailor Pluto, Neptune and Saturn! Thanks for looking at my camera, Pluto ^_^

Akiyama Mio, Listen version. Maybe I should've gone with my gender bender Mugi again?

Miko Trooper ^^;;; This is the same SOS Brigade Leader Trooper as last year, lol.

A complete Panty and Stocking pair!

I was running late, but I HAD TO TAKE THIS PHOTO!!! Unagi from Popotan is so rare, especially since Unagi is voiced by one of my favourite seiyuu, Kawasumi Ayako.

Maridah's Suenaga Mirai along with Dancing Queen as Rei in the background... And I also see my roommate soulfringe in the background, lol.

I see someone was doing a Rei & Asuka photoshoot... Now that I think about it, I wonder if that's Dancing Queen again ^^;

Random meido... Unless someone knows this is from a certain series ^^;

Starscream and ... Megatron, I guess ^^

A Puella Magi Madoka Magica cosplay gathering at the Aniplex booth. Lots of Mamis!

Some kind of time convergence! 4 Mami vs Charlotte...

Two Kaname Madokas ^_^

Sayaka and Mami

Makinami Mari Illustrious! Probably the only one at AX ^^;

Guu and Hare! So nice to see something from Jungle wa Itsumo Hale nochi Guu ^^

Crono (Chrono?) and Lucca from Chrono Trigger

Normally I don't take much photos of crossplayer, but this is not one of them, lol. An accurate Ayumu from Kore wa Zombie Desu ka ^^;

Neliel, Grimmjow and Urahara from Bleach

The possessor of the Tri-Force of Power, Gannondorf!

Link and an oversized Midna :P

Sheik and Link... From different universes/timeline ^^;

A Queen's Blade group: Erina, Nanael, Melpha, Claudette & Ymir... When will I see Echidna and Aldra cosplay?

Maridah's Saber! Too bad I missed her Saber Lion, gao...

Usopp from One Piece. The nose looks great!

Adel, Ultimecia and Edea from Final Fantasy VIII. Thanks Soth for the naming help!

Misaka Mikoto! Maybe the only one this year...

Lacus Clyne from Gundam Seed

Need another help here... I know it's Kallen on the right, but dunno about the one on the left ^^;

Elsie from KamiNomi :)

Tiger and Bunny

And another bunny! Buruma in bunny outfit surrounded by... Dragonballs ^^;

Oh no, she spotted me! LoL I was hijacking someone else's photoshoot ^^;

Panty and Brief? I don't remember that Brief outfit ^^;

Meiko and Kaito! I was happy to see more Meiko around AX this year ^_^

And another Meiko! This is the same Meiko I used as the top photo, but in this one she saw my Shiteyanyo shirt and had a good laugh out of it ^w^

More Madoka! That bow is awesome!

Madoka and her friend, Stardust Witch Meruru from OreImo. Thanks Anonymous & Darky-sama!

Kyoko and Mami! Mami seems to be very popular choice for everyone.

Haqua and Elsie wants your lost soul :P

Rare to find a Kigurumi cosplay in N. America... Don't even know the character, lol, just wanted a photo of one.

More Transformers... Bumblebee, Ironhide and Megatronko.

Cheergirl Bayonetta and Rodin

Fran from FFXII

There's a reason why I wanted to take a photo of this Nagato... Not just because of the mean stare there ^^;

It's because she's holding a video camera when I first seen her... Which reminds me of this 4koma below:

And that's it this year... I should've taken more photos. So many Touwa Erios too! But I just couldn't take much photos this year for some reason ^^; Oh well... More AX 2011 posts soon!
